This project was developed under the opportunity of requalifying an area at south, near Luanda city. GEG was responsible for the requalification plan, with a new solution for the hard landscape and soft landscape, with interventions on road design, buildings design and infrastructures design.
GEG´s engineering permanent staff at Angola was responsible for the coordination and project management of the project. To increase the quality of life in this new ”city”, a new mall, Kalandula Shopping, will be constructed at the centre of the urbanisation.
This urban plan was a challenge, considering its strategic importance for the region and due to the size of the requalified area, about 300 ha of land, previously populated with the traditional “musseques” houses.
A huge real estate investment was developed, with strict rules, in order to achieve a final solution, with profits for our client, and clear social benefits for the local habitants.
About 70% of this project is done on site, with the expected success at all levels. This intervention will create 1.099.642 m2 for housing, 666.562 m2 for commerce and services, fixing an estimated population of 45.740 inhabitants.
