Paulo Pimenta, GEG’s CEO and partner since 2000, completed the degree in Civil Engineering in 1982 at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP), and started developing his professional activity as a structural engineer.

In 1989 he obtained, in the same institution, a Master’s Degree in Construction of Buildings. In 1992/1993 he obtained an MBA in Commercial Engineering and Management at the Porto’s Business Institute (IEP – Instituto Empresarial Portuense). Between 1982 and 2012 Paulo Pimenta was a lecturer at ISEP – Porto Institute of Engineering teaching subjects related to structures and project management.

Paulo Pimenta collaborates with GEG – Gabinete de Estruturas e Geotecnia since its foundation, in 1987. In 1994, and as a sequence of the international public tender for the Metro of Porto and GEG’s consortium Normetro participation, Paulo Pimenta permanently incorporated the company’s team, assuming internally the coordination of the “Metro of Porto” project. In 2000, he became managing partner of the company, assuming management and production management functions, with special emphasis on the coordination of international multidisciplinary projects.

He has developed his professional activity in the scope of automatic calculation applications and implementation of information systems, being today a driver in the implementation of new tools and work methodologies.

In the early 2000s, he led the preparation of the internationalisation process establishing the first contacts with the Angolan market in 2003 and expanding the implementation of GEG internationally in strategic markets.

Paulo Pimenta is currently the chief executive officer, assuming responsibility for project management operations and the management system. He also assumes the internationalisation process in markets such as the Middle East, Asia, Angola and Mozambique, including the coordination of national and international projects. Together with the other managing partners, he defines the strategies of the company’s management.
