Hugo Marques graduated in Civil Engineering from the Engineering Faculty in Porto in June 2000. In 2009 graduated from the M. Sc. Course of Structures of Civil Engineering.

He joined GEG in September 2000 as a Structural engineer. Currently, he is the Director of Building Engineering department with large experience of leading, managing and co-ordinating multi-disciplinary project teams.

Hugo has a proven track record of successful delivery of large scale multidiscipline design projects from concept to detailed design and completion of construction, with responsibility for the technical direction providing leadership from both a technical delivery and people management perspective.

In these high-profile international projects, he works closely with clients, decision makers, industry stakeholders and other consultants to develop robust design solutions through collaborative and proactive management of client demands. He has extensive experience of structural engineering building design on a variety of multi-disciplinary projects and the ability to work within the budget and to programme, to control costs and to effectively manage resources and change control.

His experience in the structural design field has been mainly dedicated to assignments concerning large buildings, scientific facilities, stadiums and sports venues, underground constructions and hospitals.

Hugo is a specialist in structural engineering recognised by the Portuguese professional engineering society (Ordem dos Engenheiros) since June 2016.
