João Fragata completed his first degree in Civil Engineering in 2007 and a M. Sc. in Transport in 2008 at the Engineering Faculty in Porto.
He has been a GEG’s collaborator since October 2014. Between 2008 and 2009 he also worked in the office. He currently works as a project designer of roads and railways at the Transports & Infrastructures department.
Throughout his professional experience, he has been involved in several stages of the project (from concept development studies to detailed design) and in the monitoring of construction works.
João has a thorough knowledge of European and international standards. His experience in the highway also allowed him to acquire new knowledge in pavement, signalling, drainage and earthworks. He has extensive experience in road development software (CIVIL 3D, Bentley INROADS / INRAIL, MX ROADS) and structural calculation of pavements (ELSYM5, ALIZE). He also developed 3D models that allow the calculation of earth volumes, the coordinates listing and the creation of cross-sectional and longitudinal profiles.
In the railway sector, he developed several projects for light rails and also had the opportunity to work on conventional railway line projects. He was mainly involved in the development of railroad tracks. João is able to provide all the necessary elements for a railway track.
