Management System

GEG aims to confirm the rigor and excellence that has distinguished it throughout its existence. Based on society’s recognition of its values and competencies, GEG intends to become an engineering reference company in Portugal and internationally, supported by the work developed in projects of international scale and prestige.

Thereby, GEG defined its development strategy with the aim of creating competitive advantages based on differentiation. In order to continuously improve its performance, including environmental and health and safety at work, GEG seeks to continue the systematization of its practices oriented towards sustainability.

Within this framework, the Integrated Management System (IMS) represents for GEG the support for creating a quality and excellent service.

GEG implements a complete range of fully certified and integrated quality, safety and environmental management systems. These procedures are internalised in our organisation and imply an involvement of the whole team and an integrated management of all processes that take place in the organisation.

GEG has available the electronic complaints book, which allows consumers and users to submit their complaints in electronic format. To access to the platform please go to “www.livroreclamacoes.pt”. We promote the use of IMS tools to give the best answer to the problems and complaints.

GEG also promotes the evaluation of its external suppliers and partners, in order to guarantee a competitive price and the required quality of the products and services acquired according to ISO 9001: 2015,  ISO 14001: 2015 standards and IDO45001: “The organization shall establish and apply criteria for the evaluation, selection, monitoring of performance and re-evaluation of external suppliers based on their ability to provide processes or products and services in accordance with requirements. “ The process takes place annually and the factors evaluated are the service; price; delivery time and product quality, including aspects related to environment and safety.

Certification System

GEG is currently certified in the following systems:

  • Quality Management System (ISO 9001: 2015 standard)
  • Environmental Management System (ISO 14001: 2015 standard).
  • Health and Safety System (ISO45001: 2018)

Since 2003, GEG has been certified in the Quality Management System, and since then it has increased its range of certification to other references.

Between 2012 and 2016, GEG was certified in the Management System of Research, Development and Innovation implemented in the Design and Development of Civil Engineering Projects, according to the Portuguese standard NP 4457:2007. During this period, GEG developed the necessary tools which support the R&D development in the company.

In 2016, GEG transitioned its Quality and Environmental Management System to ensure its compliance with the requirements of ISO 9001: 2015 and ISO 14001: 2015 and in 2019 we proceed to the migration to ISO45001:2018.

In 2021, already in the pandemic, GEG embrace with success a new challenge of the certification in health and safety at work during the covid19 pandemic.

The scope of current GEG certification is the design and development of Engineering and geology design and studies, Project Coordination and Management, in accordance with NP EN ISO 9001, NP EN ISO 14001, ISO 45001:2018 standards.

 

Management System - Policy and Objectives

The policy and objectives of GEG’s management system rely on its mission and are supported by the following guiding principles, focused on its identity and global positioning in the markets in which develops its activity:

  • Provision of outstanding services, regulated by a management system, which ensures a full compliance with the applicable legislation, so as to exceed clients and stakeholders’ expectations;
  • To promote the establishment of national and international cooperation networks with companies and other institutions, in order to form partnerships for research, development and technological, scientific and organisational innovation, fostering new business opportunities in the internal and external market, knowledge obtained enhancement and value creation;
  • Continuous improvement of infrastructures available in terms of information management, with constant challenges and organisational overcoming, as a growth and statement factor of GEG’s brand;
  • Obtain of an high standard of safety and health that must be assumed as an obligation and common responsibility of all in GEG, with the identification, evaluation and risks control, promoting the participation of all the persons in the company and their involvement in all the phases of the process;
  • To manage the impact of its activities guaranteeing natural resources’ optimisation, protection of the environment and reduction of pollution;
  • To ensure the ethical component of all its processes, ensuring and promoting the rights and freedoms of collaborators, suppliers and other stakeholders;
  • To ensure the permanent training and motivation of collaborators, encouraging creativity and capability for personal innovation and for stimulating participation in collective work, promoting downward communication and enhancement of human relations.
