Strategic project in the economic and tourism plan for Libya, the New International Airport of Tripoli involves the construction of two passengers’ terminals around the existent airport.
Each terminal will have 78 check-in desks and 16 boarding gates with two boarding/landing bridges, which will enable to simultaneously operate about 60 aircraft.
With a total area of 325.000 m2, the two terminals will have a capacity of over than 20 million passengers per year.
Integrated in a network of companies and specialists of the whole world (Libya, Brazil, Turkey, France, Germany and Japan are just some of the represented countries), GEG was responsible for the design of some alternative solutions to the conceptual design and assumed the role as a consultant in terms of foundations, structures, precast elements and steel constructions areas.
