Within the network of accessibilities and transports, GEG’s most significant expertise concerns the challenges of higher complexity and technical demand: the bridges, viaducts, overpasses, underpasses and footbridges.

For more than 30 years, GEG has been developing network structures, including rehabilitation and reinforcement of bridges or viaducts and their foundations, as well as the development of innovative solutions for widening and extending bridges, expanding single to double tracks, expanding carriageways and designing special foundations. The acquired competencies by studying safety, seismic risks and prevention devices are to be referred in this context.

GEG has a team of experts with a high technical competence in bridges and viaducts’ design, with emphasis on the geology, geotechnical and structural disciplines. We work together with owners, concessionary companies and contractors to create safe, viable and economical solutions, maximising the value and extending the life-cycle of the structures to be built.

At the same time, GEG is committed to the use of innovative solutions and methodologies, being a pioneer in Portugal in respect to railroad dynamics studies, an area where we have given particular dedication.
