Carmina Costa graduated in July 2007 from the Engineering Faculty in Porto with a licentiate degree in Civil Engineering, specialisation in Geotechnics.

She joined GEG in August 2007. Nowadays she is as a project designer and project manager in the Geology and Geotechnics department.

In the design area, her experience assumes some relevance on slope analyses and stabilisation measures (rocks and soils), embankment construction and reinforcement, earth retaining structures, among others. Inspection visits and diagnosis of geotechnical structures on highways and railways is also one of her competencies. For the last years, she also assumes the project manager role for some projects, and she is responsible for assuring the link with the client and that the deadlines are achieved within budget and to the expected level of quality.

Regarding complementary professional formation, she has participated in several initiatives and actions, with particular emphasis on her participation as a speaker in the slope stabilisation courses (Brazilian Experience and Cases of Portuguese Construction Works) in 2010 and 2011. In 2015 she attended the course of Foundations and Retaining Structures – Sizing according to EC 7 in ISEP. In 2013, she obtained the project management certification, IPMA Level D, according to IPMA – International Project Management Association.

In 2013 she participated in internal training in project management of engineering and programming services, in 2016 undertook an intensive preparation course for PMP Certification Exam. Since 2011 she is a project manager for a national and international level of projects promoted by Young Crew/APOGEP/IPMA for the dissemination of Project Management to students and young professionals.
