An effective infrastructure conception and functioning is the basis of the prosperity of cities, regions and societies. There is a need of flexible and resilient systems that can adapt to growing and modernising cities and respond to both the new challenges pushed by megacities and the needs of basic infrastructure that is still lacking in some parts of the world.
In this context, GEG develops high-performance complete solutions in the different infrastructures that make up the cities – from transport infrastructures such as metro lines, roads, bridges and tunnels to urban infrastructure networks, including wastewater systems, water and energy supply and telecommunications.
GEG has extensive experience in the development of infrastructure projects in different cultural contexts, from the projects of metro lines in Porto, road infrastructures in Libya, to projects of large urban complexes and new cities.
The engineering services that GEG develops in the design of the infrastructures cover all the necessary disciplines, including MEP, geology and geotechnics, transport networks, complementary technical installations and acoustics.
GEG uses the most advanced methods, materials and technologies in the design, modelling and coordination of these studies, both in the feasibility studies carried out to support the client’s decision on the large investments, and in the compatibility of infrastructures in 3D models, with software capable to detect clashes between them, in order to make their coordination more efficient from the design phase, avoiding more complex problems in the construction phase.
