Ricardo Leite graduated in July 1986 from the Engineering Faculty in Porto with a licentiate degree in Civil Engineering. In May 1992, he completed a M. Sc. Course of Structures of Civil Engineering (option of Infrastructures) by the Department of Civil Engineering of FEUP, with the presentation of the thesis on the theme “Simulation of the Collapse of Rockfill Embankments”.
He joined GEG in September 1998. Nowadays he is the technical director of the Bridges & Viaducts of the technical department of Transports & Infrastructures.
As being a highly experienced and recognised project designer, he is responsible for the leadership of all design conceiving and revision assignments. He also plays an important role by handling technical support to other engineers and geologists working in the company and also by representing GEG for consulting services as an expert structural engineer.
His experience of over 20 years in the project designing field has been mainly dedicated to assignments concerning new bridges and viaducts.
He also gained considerable relevant experience and know-how in the hydrological, drainage, geotechnics and foundations fields and through other assignments dealing with multidisciplinary civil design projects.
The development of structural calculation software as well as design and calculation spreadsheets had his precious dedication and commitment ever since he joined GEG.
