The new health services building, in Loulé, represents the expansion of the existing health centre. This project was designed with the aim of significantly improving the health care available to people from Loulé, and this equipment will now serve 14,000 users in the Family Health Unit and 70,000 in the Community Health Care Unit.
The new building will expand the current Health Center by 2,650 m2, has a construction period of two and a half years and a cost of 4,680 million euros. GEG was responsible for the development of all the engineering design, developed in coordination with the AND-RE office, responsible for the architecture of the building.
The Health Services Building in Loulé consists of 2 blocks, separated by expansion joints, defining an L-shaped and rectangular configuration in plan and similar developments in height.
A reticulated system consisting of slabs, pillars and reinforced concrete walls is considered as a resistant structure, which are complemented by stairs, retaining walls and foundations.
