ABOUT
The Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Ovar hydrotherapy pool project was aimed at designing a modern and high-quality infrastructure that could cater to the needs of its users by promoting physical and sporting activities, such as swimming and hydro-gymnastics.
This project is a testament to GEG’s commitment to promoting the well-being and quality of life of the local community and region. We developed an engineering design that ensured the safety and quality of the Ovar swimming pools while complying with the most rigorous technical and normative standards.
The roof was designed as a three-dimensional orthogonal concrete mesh, allowing for the distribution of natural light in the pool area, resulting in a unique and ever-changing environment that reflects the time of day and weather changes. The cover grid expands over the walls, providing shade and protection where necessary.
The project was developed in collaboration with the architects AND_RE and officially inaugurated in February 2023. The space is currently in operation, and we are proud to have contributed to the creation of a safe and enjoyable space for the community to engage in healthy physical activities.
