The building with 5 storeys was built in reinforced concrete and the roof in metallic structure. The building has a construction area of about 19.500 m2.
The structure was designed in order to fulfil all tasks set during his lifetime, with an adequate level of safety, and without bleaching the economic aspects and its compatibility with the architecture and other disciplines.
In the scope of this project, GEG sought to respect the principle of structural simplicity, characterised by the existence of clear and direct paths for the load transmissions. This was an important and essential aim to accomplish since the modelling, analysis, design and construction of simple structures have much less uncertainty, so it is possible to predict their behaviour with a much bigger reliability.
