The hydroelectric plant of Picote II is an underground cave plant, about 150 meters deep, with a hydraulic circuit in a tunnel, various shafts and support and access tunnels.
Within the scope of this work, GEG was contracted – by the supervision team responsible for the excavation operation of the several tunnels – to develop on-site support and supervision of the geotechnical works, through the monitoring and instrumentation of the geological and geotechnical conditions, analysis of the geological and geotechnical mapping and cartography, and geotechnical consulting, namely on the rock mass classification at the excavation face. During this project, we also provide technical advice about the solutions for the dismantling of the rock mass.
Between September 2007 and September 2009, GEG was present at the site work with a resident engineer.
