Ferry terminal in Lisbon

ABOUT

The scope of this project was the construction of five floating pontoons in the river ferry terminal of “Terreiro do Paço”, in Lisbon.

The scope of the work comprised dredging, driven steel piles and the execution of a rockfill structure for the attenuation of the river waves.

In 2008, a Portuguese contractor, Irmãos Cavaco S.A., requested GEG to study, evaluate and justify the settlements of the rockfill structure, placed in the Tagus River in order to attenuate the waves’ effect. This settlement problem was located near the Intermodal interface for metro, railway terminal, roadway and river port, located at Terreiro do Paço in Lisbon.
